Max Kade Professorship
The Distinguished Visiting Max Kade Foundation Professorship brings to the Northwestern campus a world-renowned scholar during one quarter each year. While teaching graduate seminars, often combined with an undergraduate counterpart, the scholar also gives at least one major public presentation and interacts throughout the quarter with faculty and students. Supported each year by a generous grant from the Max Kade Foundation (New York), the visiting professorship also benefits from contributions that stem from the Weinberg College Dean’s Office, the German Department, as well as many other academic units at the University, including the Departments of Philosophy, History, English, and the Program in Comparative Literary Studies.
