Minor in German
Students minoring in German take 7 courses in the department or abroad (Students may count up to 4 courses from a year abroad towards the German minor and 2 courses from a semester abroad.)
Prerequisites
102-3 or equivalent proficiency
Department Courses (7 courses)
5 core courses- 3 German-language courses in intermediate and advanced language and media
- 2 at the 200 level (for example 201, 203, 205, 207)
- 1 at the 300 level; or as discussed with the DUS (for example 303, 305, 307, 309, 311)
- 2 German-language courses in literature, culture, history, and politics
- 1 at the 200 level (for example 209, 211, 213, 221, 245)
- 1 at the 300 level; or as discussed with the DUS (for example 321, 323, 325, 327, 329, 331, 333, 335, 337, 345)
2 elective courses taught in the German department chosen according to the interests of the student. The courses may be in English or German.
Note:
- Courses listed as prerequisites for an advanced course may not be taken for credit after the advanced course has been completed.
