News from Martin Amesquita

June 20, 2020

Martin Amesquita graduated in 2014 with a major in German and subsequently went on to earn a Master’s degree  from the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University in 2016. As an undergraduate in the German Department Martin was particularly interested in literature by migrant authors writing in German and representations of the Holocaust in literature and German public culture. In order to apply his knowledge of German language and culture, Martin was teaching German at the High School level in Naperville for four years.  We are excited to announce that Martin will begin studying for his PhD in German at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the Fall 2020.  Congratulations to Martin and thank you to Anna Parkinson for continuing to mentor this gifted student.
